I have been called to serve a 2-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Washington Tacoma Mission – Spanish Speaking! I will enter the Mexico Missionary Training Center on August 23rd, 2016. After 6 weeks of training, I will enter my assigned mission area where I will serve and teach the people of Washington! While I am serving the people of Washington, my mom will be sharing my experiences and pictures on this blog.
I was born and raised in Mesa, Arizona. At age 2 I began to play soccer and it quickly became my passion. I played competitively on a year-round team all the way through my senior year. I also played 4 years of Varsity soccer for Mountain View High School. Soccer has always been a huge part of my everyday life. Friends have also been a very important part of my life. I am definitely a socializer. I do not want to miss out on any fun. At the age of 16, I started working at Sassy’s Café and Bakery in Mesa and have continued to work there right up until my mission. I have learned many valuable social skills at Sassy’s that will help me on my mission. My decision to serve a mission was not an easy one. While it was something I had always wanted to do, I also had a strong desire to play college soccer. After much thought and prayer, I knew I needed to serve a mission right out of high school. Soccer would have to wait. I am excited to serve the Lord and the people in the Tacoma, Washington area. I have never been to Washington so this will be a real adventure for this conservative Mesa boy! I am also very eager to learn and teach in Spanish.
ABOUT MY FAMILY:
My parents are both converts to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My mom was baptized at the age of 9 and my dad was baptized when I was 11 months old. Missionaries have played a very important role in our family. I am the oldest of 4, with 3 younger sisters (Makinley-16, Laikyn -4 and Emry – 3). Soccer, pom and dance keep our family busy. My dad and I are ASU fanatics. We had season passes to the ASU football games that kept us busy as well. We love Disneyland and our goldendoodle (Nilla).
